Shark boy

This is a project I have been excited about for a long time now. A couple of years back I found a website called The Monster Engine (at oddly enough) and at the site you can see pictures that young kids have drawn and then the artist has taken them and painted them as beautifully as he can. The end result is just gorgeous and alot of fun. Right then and there I said to myself that when my own kids were at that stage to do a recognizable drawing I would paint it up. Well my son has gotten to tthat stage and drew up this picture of Shark Boy (fromt he movie "Sharkboy and Lavagirl in 3D" which he is totally in love with) and I snatched up his drawing and painted it. I had so much fun doing this. It was a hoot to paint a drawing with shapes I never would have drawn. I still have my sons original drawing and I'm going to get a frame that I can put both his drawing and then my painting in together. Anyway, that's the long way of saying I took my son's drawing and had fun painting it myself. Enjoy.
